Here is what each size in this rug is best suited to.

• 2 × 3 ft 61 × 91 cm Entryway, bathroom, or beside the bed
• 3 × 5 ft 91 × 152 cm Home office, reading nook, or accent spot
• 4 × 6 ft 122 × 183 cm Dining for four, under a coffee table, small bedroom
• 5 × 7 ft 152 × 213 cm Living room seating area, queen bedroom
• 6 × 9 ft 183 × 274 cm Open-plan living, dining for six

Getting the placement right

• Living room — at minimum, the front legs of your sofa should rest on the rug. The rug should be at least as wide as the sofa.
• Bedroom — allow 18–24 in (45–60 cm) of rug on each side of the bed so your feet land on wool, not floor.
• Dining room — the rug needs to extend 24 in (60 cm) past every edge of the table so chairs stay on it when pulled out.
• Any room — leave 8–18 in (20–45 cm) of bare floor between the rug and the walls. A rug that runs wall to wall makes a room feel smaller.

Before you order: mark the size out on your floor with painter's tape and live with it for a day. It is the quickest way to be certain, and it costs nothing.
